This is the final game of the Marlins 2008 season.  It is also the final regular season game in the history of Shea Stadium.

Olsen will be making his 33rd start of the season, which ain't too bad.  As with any Olsen start, if guys will play defense and Scottie O. keeps the ball in the park and holds down the walks, he should be fine.  That keeping the ball in the park thing has been a problem against the Mets this season.  But maybe he has figured how to avoid that problem.  Olsen hates day games but does some of his best work in them.

Perez is going on three-days rest since the Mets are tied with Brewers in the wild card race.  Perez had a rough outing in his last start only going 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks.  Perez throws reasonably hard and tends to use his slider as an out pitch.  He also has control issues and walks a fair number of batters.  Perez, also, does some of his best work in day games.  He is lefty and lefties sometimes give the Marlins problems.

A win for the Fish will give them the third highest number of wins during the regular season in franchise history.

Ichthyomancy is ready to crown a champion.  Should you find yourself behind in the standings, you're not out of it yet.  Say, your 127 points behind, all you have to do is pick 127 events in your AAB selections and get them all right.  No problem.

Best of Luck to You!

I’ll be honorable, taking my place very far down the charts and only one AAB pick – Mets never have the lead

It's not the playoffs but

Awsome way to end the season!

I almost feel bad for Met fans…. almost.

I would've felt more sorry for Brewers fans.

They haven’t even sniffed the playoffs since 1984 or whatever.

you are dead to me.

feeling anything close to sorry for Mets fans is a deal-breaker.

as a Miami native now living in New York...

… this is the greatest day since last year when we did the exact same thing. I just finished watching it on delay, I’ve cracked a beer, and I think it’s about time I throw on my Marlins jersey and walk around Midtown with the biggest grin on my face. What a glorious day!
