The Marlins return home after a less than thrilling road trip. Sure, it wasn't horrible but it could've and should've been so much better than 4-5.

The Mets are in town and the Fish find themselves 6 games back with 28 left to play. The Marlins don't need to sweep the series but a series win may be imperative. Though a sweep would be nice.

Volstad wasn't bad in his last outing, really. Even though he was charged with 4 runs in 5.1 innings, Chris got exactly zero help from his friends. His walks to innings ratio is still a bit high and he is allowing about a hit an inning. But he is a sinker ball pitcher and if the guys behind him will get into the game, he can easily handle that.

The Marlins faced Perez on August 8 and frankly, didn't do much against him. He went 7.0 innings giving up only 2 hits and 0 runs while striking out eight. Now for the good news, he doesn't do that every time out. Perez is a lefty.
