The Marlins are actually going for the series win tonight, and in the second game of the series.  It has been awhile since this has happened.

Olsen in his past outings has pitched well enough to win.  In his last start against the Cardinals he went 7 innings allowing 3 runs and took the loss.  In his last five outing the offense scored a whopping 9 runs.  Hopefully he will get a little more help from friends than that tonight.

Cain has been on fire recently, why do we always run into these guys.  He might walk a few, and I would like to emphasize the word "might".  I was browsing through his stats to find some good news but it was tough to come by.  But all hot streaks come to an end and tonight is just as good a time as any.

Ichthyomancy is ready for the second round of Midnight Baseball.  Best of Luck to You!

surprisingly tough match.

But the ’Muricans pulled through. The greatest volleyball team of all-time!

HOLY CRAP!!!

Man, Baker hit that one so far you would’ve thought Pinto was on the mound!!

Yay!

Always go with your gut for Ichthyomancy

I was this close (holds up thumb and index finger about 2cm apart) to picking Baker for my player tonight!

Oh and I almost forgot...

why do we need Lo Duca again?

by hurricane on Aug 21, 2008 12:58 AM EDT up reply actions

yeah, I was thinking that when we signed him.

If Treanor can play, why do we need a third catcher? Especially if it eats into Baker’s playing time and hurts his development.

Man, am I jazzed about that homer!

by Fishcrazy on Aug 21, 2008 1:00 AM EDT up reply actions

No kidding

I actually don’t mind having Lo Duca in AAA as insurance (which I thought was the original plan), but we don’t need him on the club unless Baker or Treanor can’t play (although the fact that he is on the club might tell us something about how well Treanor really is).

Eh, if Treanor is on cortisone shots to (hopefully) delay surgery...

…I’m not sweating Lo Duca sharing backup duties. Hopefully, Fredi/FO might experiment a bit more and let Baker try a few games in the 2 spot. Not like production from that spot could be any worse as of late.

by dgriot on Aug 21, 2008 1:18 AM EDT up reply actions

um...

2nd and 3rd with one out. C’mon guys, don’t blow this one after that incredible homer.
