Is Uggla really that dumb?

PrintI'm watching the marlins-giants game and we were just doubled up b/c uggla thought there were 2 outs on a fly ball to right field, uggla being on 2nd. He really mustve taken off b/c the outfielder took his time getting the ball in, the 2nd baseman had time to bobble it, brush the ball off and tag the bag.
Last week he missed a hit & run sign in the 9th, shattering our chance of tying that game.
Whats up w/ Uggs? He giving up on the season or just as smart as he looks?
