Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh win

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh win again.

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh stayed perfect in Olympic action with a victory over Norway's Nila Hakedal and Ingrid Torlen on Thursday.

With the 21-12, 21-15 win, the Americans extended their winning streak to 104-straight matches and closed out pool play with a 3-0 record. The duo has posted a 457-18 mark since winning gold at the 2004 Athens Games.

"It's one more win down, now we have to focus on the next one," May-Treanor said after the match.

That makes 104 match wins in-a-row.  And that gets them into the round of sixteen.  To be real honest, they didn't need to even show up for the match at all to get into the round of sixteen.  They were already in.

I have no idea when they play next since the schedule will not be set until the end of the day in Beijing, which is still going on as I write this.

I'm pretty sure they will play in match 8 in the round of 16, the elimination round.  Should the rounds be played in sequential order, their next match will be at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Which will be a night game in China.  But don't hold me to that.

Oh, in case you were wondering what that black stuff is on Kerri Walsh's shoulder, it is kinesiotape.  The pattern of the tape being used is to support the rotator cuff.

Baseball pitchers aren't the only ones who have rotator cuff problems.  Fortunately, beach volley players are the only ones who wear bikinis so you can see it.
