Chris Volstad gets the call
Chris Volstad is on the way.
The Marlins top prospect is now ready to join the big leagues.
Chris Volstad, the 16th overall pick in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, had his contract selected from Double-A Carolina on Sunday afternoon, and initially he will be available to pitch out of the bullpen.
---
The Marlins are promoting Volstad the day after they optioned lefty reliever Taylor Tankersley to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Volstad could join the rotation during the road trip, which goes from Colorado on Sunday to San Diego on Monday.
I suspect he will take over Tucker's spot in the rotation eventually. Volstad pitched three days ago.
Welcome to the Majors, Mr. Volstad!

Rotation
Volstad will make his first start on Friday against the Dodgers. That’s actually Hendrickson’s spot. Josh Johnson will pitch on Thursday in Tucker’s spot.
this is wonderful that volstad is up and now JJ is back!!!
btw tucker and hendrickson are going to the pen, tucker’s career is most likely going to be in the pen anyways, but hendrickson needs to go when justin miller comes back!
wow now are rotation is miller, olsen, volstad,JJ,nolasco we can win this division! only 2 1/2 back!!!
