Happy Fourth of July!  Or if you live across the international dateline, Happy Fifth of July!

Hopefully the Marlins gave out all the presents they were planning to present to our host the Rockies.  And personally, I've could've gone with a less generous offering.

So let's try it again.

Olsen has started twice in Coors Field and posted 1-1 record in the process.  He won in 2006 only allowing 3 runs in 6 innings and most of that came off a home run.  In his 2007 campaign, you know the one, where he was the only young starter from 2006 whose arm didn't fall off from the overuse, he only went 2 innings..  Ollie has  since rebounded and is pitching well.  Now it just a matter of whether the Marlins will ever score some runs in one of his starts.

Reynolds is a rookie and I know very little about him.  Lefties are hitting him at a .306 clip.  He has given up 10 home runs in the 10 games he has pitched.  He does, for some unknown reason, pitch better in Coors than on the road.

Ichthyomancy is loving the long weekend.  Best of Luck to You!

Other fun possible AABs:

Gregg: More runners allowed than G’s in name

amended attendance

48,150

I lowered it to account for the 50 people carted out of the stadium after being hit by maple bat shards.

I'll be fair

Make it Hermida for player

Holy ass what a bad game

I’ve never seen more doubles and walks.

This is about to be the worst loss I've ever seen

Remember that time we gave up 10 in the 9th to the Phillies and lost 10-2? This is worse.

is it too late...

to submit my AAB:

Teams combine for 35 runs…greg blows the save?

by hoyamarlin on Jul 5, 2008 12:04 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I dont think Gregg blows the save gets any points anymore

i have a feeling...

when we look back on this season, this game will be looked at as the game that broke this team. Hate to be so negative, but how do you recover from this?

by hoyamarlin on Jul 5, 2008 12:09 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

in my wildest dreams...

i could not imagine a bigger trainwreck than this. utter disaster on every level.

we’ll be lucky to finish above washington in the division this year.

also, i wouldn’t hold my breath on us being “buyers” this month.

disgusted

i have been a lifelong marlins fan since i knew what baseball was. ive been along for the ride through the good times and the bad. This team this year I think can can contend for atleast a playoff spot and i joined this blog and signed up just so i can express my disgust with this ball club after ive watched this collapse in colorado on friday night. Maybe my words on here will echo throughout south florida media b/c i havnt yet heard one person this season question freddi gonzalez. The decisions that this horrible manager has made over the course of this year have been dreadfull. for starters freddi brings in taylor tankersley (a lefty making his first appearence back from triple-a) to face the middle of the rockies lineup who are all right handed hitters. tankersley throws 22 pitches, gets 1 out, give up 3 er’s on 3 hits and 2 hrs. then he brings in joe nelson who i feel is our 2nd best bulpen pitcher, and he gets out of the jam getting the final 2 outs while walking 2 and striking out 1. the damage was done but he still got the job done. then instead of bringing in our number 1 bulpen pitcher, doug waechter, he hands the ball to justin miller who is soon followed by logan kensing. knesing and miller combine for 30 pitches, 4 er’s, 2 walks and a hr on 3 hits. i dont know maybe waechter was unavailable from the 3 pitches he threw the night before. i dont think i need to go any further with this, we all know what happend. i just dont understand how our manager doesnt even know who his best bulpen pitchers are. kevin gregg should not be saving ball games. he has the most walks of any closer in the big leagues. even the games he saves he still give up hit and walks guys. but still every ninth inning we have a lead freddi brings kevin right back on out.(a guy who cant even see the signs from the catcher!) its bothers me that nobody questions freddi gonzalez, all anyone says is we shouldnt be in this position anyways. so hes done a great job with the team. well we are in this position and we should just kick the problem to the curb, we should address it. if u ask me we should try doug waechter as our closer, and joe nelson should be our set-up guy. they are the only two pitchers that come into a game and throw strikes. this team should be 8-12 games over 500 right now, instead were only 2, and falling fast in the nl east. freddi’s decisions need to start being questioned!!!!!!!
