It's time to startup the so called second half of the season and the Marlins welcome the Phillies to town.  The Phillies are only 1.5 games ahead of the Marlins in the standings and our favorite team has the chance to change that for the better.

Nolasco wasn't as sharp as usual in his last start, but he did what all good pitchers do, battle through it and keep his team in contention.  Actually, in the late innings he was able to spot his fast ball with a little more regularity, when he used it.  Ricky has done well against the Phillies this year, facing them twice and only allowing two ER in the process.  When Nolasco is on, he can shut any team down.

Moyer has never lost to the Marlins in his career, and how I hate him.  He is a soft tossing lefty who has unbelievable command of his pitches when facing the Fish.  His perfect record can't last forever.  Hopefully, tonight, the behind the plate umpire will have a tight strike zone and will not allow all that wide crap six inches off the plate to be strikes.

Ichthyomancy is ready for some action.  Best of Luck to You!

I know I’m part of the reason the fish have such horrible attendance figures but between school and work it’s been too hard, but I’m going tonight to support them when they most need me.

Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; but if a thing is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

Nolasco (hopeful-if Marlins score for him)
Uggla-Will eihter crush ball in series or sink into prolonged slump (he deserved better at ASG from baseball gods)

Everything posted re Moyer is right. But Fish have much blame to bear: they are generally free-swingers and impatient. If they take a good approach and try to make contact, go to the opposite field, and otherwise devise strategy to extend counts-tricky because of M’s control- and get on base, they will have better luck against a guy-Glavine is another-who is the reincarnation of Cy Young every time out against our sail-finned long-billed fishies…

I’d pick him for the win, too, but I’m taking a break from predicting Moyer’s doom at our scaly hands.
