The Marlins are going for their second win in the four game series.

Volstad will be making his first big league start tonight and it couldn't come in a better on the road park.  If Volstad's sinker is working, and it should, the infield is going to have to do their job.  If everyone is in sync, it could a good night for young Mr. Volstad.  For it all to work, Chris will have to get his rhythm on the mound and the fielders to follow his rhythm.

Stults is a lefty, However, right-handed batters are having troubles getting hits off him.  Lefties are having more success.  Truthfully, I don't much about him other than he pitches well at home.  And should he get into trouble, the Dodgers won't hesitate to go to bullpen.

Ichthyomancy is ready for another round of Midnight Baseball.  Best of Luck to You!

Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; but if a thing is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

Hooray indeed

according to the Herald he could become only the 6th pitcher in history to get a win in his first 2 appearances, one each as a reliever and starter. Um, they put it better than I did.

Baker is the 10th player in Marlins history to HR in his first AB.

I don't believe it.

Top 1st: Florida
- J. Hermida homered to deep right, H. Ramirez scored
- J. Cantu homered to deep left

I’m hoping that the calling up of jj and volstad will be similar to the calling up of dontrelle. Let’s get this 4 game sweep and then a sweep of the phillies on the other side of the break.

Scully

This may have been noted before, but I love watching the Dodgers’ feed when we play in L.A. —Vin Scully is the greatest, I learn more about our players’ personal histories than I will ever need to know…

Agreed

I’m gonna pause the DVR until the volume from the Scully feed sinks up w/ my TV!

When he pitches like that in his first start....

You don’t give Volstad the chance to be the losing pitcher, no matter how remote the possibility

greggify 'em!

With JJ and Volstad added to Nolasco, Olsen and the improving Miller, suddenly the second half looks a whole lot brighter. (And that’s not even counting Sanchez and Mitre, who should be back later.)
