Dan Uggla looking to make History--Again

Stay connected for news and updates

Dan Uggla has already rewritten the Major League record book once for the most home runs by a second baseman during his rookie year, now he is going for more .

After hitting two more doubles against the Reds, Dan Uggla continued in his quest for a historic season from a second baseman.

Rogers Hornsby is the only second baseman in history with a 40-doubles, 40-home run season. Hornsby hit 46 doubles and 42 home runs in 1922 with the Cardinals.

Uggla hit his 22nd and 23rd doubles of the season in the fourth and fifth innings on Sunday afternoon and has already notched 19 home runs. He is on pace to hit 60 doubles and 47 home runs this year.
