2008 FSN FANTASY AUCTION BREAKS THE $50,000 MARK RAISED
MIAMI – The Florida Marlins Community Foundation announced today that the 2008 FSN Fantasy Auction, brought to you in part by Sharp Business Systems netted over $50,000 during FSN Florida’s live high definition telecast of the Marlins versus Phillies game last night.

"The Third Annual FSN Fantasy Auction was a great night. We were winners on and off the field! This was the most money raised through the actual auction since the event started," said Nancy Olson, Executive Director of the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. "We will be able to fully fund our contribution to Teach for America with the proceeds as well as make other contributions and grants," said Olson. "Thanks to FSN Florida, the Florida Marlins, all the auction sponsors and to our fans for a great night," said Olson.

For the third consecutive year, FSN Florida, the exclusive regional television home of the Marlins hosted a special on-air auction giving viewers the opportunity to bid on nine once-in-a-lifetime Marlins-themed packages. The 2008 FSN Fantasy Auction, brought to you in part by Sharp Business Systems was available to all fans with a paid ticket to the stadium’s picnic area and to all viewers who were watching from home. The following nine one-of-a-kind packages were featured throughout the course of the live high definition telecast and the winning bids are listed below:

SHARP BUSINESS SYSTEMS WATCH PARTY: Winning Bid: $4,200 (two packages) Included a brand new Sharp Aquos 52-inch flat television screen (the official HDTV of MLB), a special 30-minute visit at your home by the Marlins Mermaids and Billy The Marlin, catering for 20 fans compliments of Gourmet Creations & Event Planners, Inc. during a FSN Florida telecast of a Marlins road game and a visit from Frank Forte who will cover the party to be aired on an upcoming edition of Marlins on Deck.

SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS AT THE MIAMI SEAQUARIUM: Winning Bid: $1,950 A swim with the dolphins session for four along with Marlins pitchers Logan Kensing & Josh Johnson at the Miami Seaquarium. The swimming escapade will also be featured during an upcoming episode of the "Mis-Adventures of Logan & JJ" on FSN Florida’s Marlins on Deck. Also, a game-used pair of cleats and bat autographed by Luis Gonzalez, along with a case of Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum.

GOODYEAR GET THERE EXPERIENCE WITH RICH WALTZ: Winning Bid: $3,600 Five guests will join television play-by-play announcer Rich Waltz for an amazing ride in the Goodyear Blimp. The package also included a $300 gourmet picnic basket from Whole Foods Market, Coral Springs, and a set of Goodyear radials brought to you by your South Florida Goodyear Dealers. Also, a game-used second based autographed by Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla.

FSN FLORIDA SUITE EXPERIENCE: Winning Bid: $3,600 A 12-person catered suite during the Marlins vs. Phillies game on Saturday, July 19 along with a visit by Special Assistant to the President and former Marlins player Andre Dawson, Billy The Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids. The package also included an opportunity for one child to appear on an upcoming edition of Billy’s Bunch, on-field pit passes to that night’s post-game concert, one dozen new official baseballs for the guests in the suite, an exclusive press box and broadcast booth tour for four guests and a FSN Florida game gear goody bag. —

MARLINS VIP EXPERIENCE: Winning Bid: $2,300 Included a ceremonial first pitch at a 2008 Florida Marlins regular season game, Meet & Greet with Hanley Ramirez, four Batters Box seats, a VIP Tour of Dolphin Stadium and a special gift bag delivery by Billy The Marlin and the Mermaids, plus a Matt Treanor game-used autographed batting helmet.

PARKLAND GOLF CLUB EXPERIENCE WITH TOMMY HUTTON: Winning Bid: $3,200 Enjoy an 18-hole round of golf for three at the beautiful Parkland Golf Club with FSN Florida television analyst Tommy Hutton followed by lunch and a complimentary individual spa treatment. The package also included one spot at the 2009 Marlins Celebrity Golf Classic, the team’s official charity golf tournament, plus one complimentary foursome at each of the following courses – Tuscany Golf Club, Tiburon Golf Club, The Colony Golf Club, Hammock Bay and Raptor Bay. In addition, a brand new set of Callaway X20 irons.

ROAD TRIP WITH THE MARLINS TO PHILADELPHIA: Winning Bid: $7,600 Travel to the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ when the Fish take on the Phillies August 5-7 or September 8-10 at Citizens Bank Park. Included airfare for two courtesy of Four Seasons Travel, hotel stay for two nights at the team hotel, a pair of tickets to all three games in the series, watch batting practice up close for one game, a Meet & Greet with Craig Minervini as you enjoy an authentic philly cheese steak, an autographed 2008 Marlins team ball and autographed baseballs from Philly stars – Chase Utley, Pat Burrell, Jamie Moyer, Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino.

BAHAMA TREASURE: Winning Bid: $4,100 Included a four-person, three-night stay at Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina in Abaco, Bahamas, with airfare included courtesy of Vintage Props & Jets. Also, a $500 Tommy Bahama Cruise Kit plus a $300 gift certificate courtesy of Tommy Bahama Ft. Lauderdale on Las Olas.
