Dan Uggla sprains ankle

Dan Uggla may be out for a few days with a sprained left-ankle.

"He just limped right up to the locker room, and when he didn't come down, I knew we were in trouble," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "But the X-rays were OK. That's a breath of fresh air."

If Uggla misses significant time, it would be a big blow to the team. He is tied for the major-league lead with 23 home runs, and ranks second among NL second basemen with 58 RBI. Gonzalez said he could miss "a couple days," but Uggla hopes to play Monday against Washington.

"It's just a little tender, but who knows what it's going to be like tomorrow," said Uggla, who hopped around the locker room on his right foot while the left was wrapped. "Usually the day after is the worst part."

Danny left the stadium on crutches with a soft cast around his ankle.  He is listed as day-to-day.

Danny isn't expected to play in today's game and is doubtful for tomorrow's.

I've heard better news in my time as a Marlins fan.  But hopefully his ankle sprain is the type that heals quickly.

I can’t help but feel this is a part of your master plot to get Robert Andino some playing time….
