Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Diamondbacks at Marlins (6/28)
Arizona @ Florida
The Marlins are going for the series win tonight. The funny thing is: if you look at the Marlins official site it will tell you that tonight is a rematch of Miller v. Webb from earlier in the year. However, the pitching match ups on May 21st were Nolasco v. Webb. Miller pitched against Haren on the 22nd. Oh well.
Miller, lately, has had some starts that were good and other starts that were not so good. Which Miller will show up tonight, is anyone's guess. The last time he faced the D'backs he went 7 innings, allowing only 5 hits and no runs.
After starting the season 9-0, Webb has been off his game recently -- allowing 12 runs in 10.1 innings pitched. Webb is a sinker ball pitcher and a good one at that. The last time he faced the Marlins he went 7.0 innings giving up 6 hits and 3 runs.
This is the normal Super Saturday and tonight's entertainment is KC and the Sunshine Band. In addition to that, if you go to game, you can get an Andrew Miller t-shirt.
Ichthyomancy is ready for the weekend. Good luck to you!

I’m going to the game, so: Marlins blow lead after the 6th inning
pessimistic, but the trend since i’ve been down here… i won’t go into whether they come back or not, i’m 1-1 on that…

Fredi criticism
My biggest gripe with Fredi since he’s been manager is that he leaves pitchers in too long when they’re struggling. If he had pulled A. Mill when the bases were loaded, i think it would have been a different ball game and it wasted what was otherwise a solid start for an inexperienced pitcher. He does this all the time (see R. Pinto after throwing 8 straight balls). Am I crazy?

Just wondering
How many AAB points would it be if you successfully predicted that Florida win the game despite being no-hit?
I can wonder these things because I forgot to submit my entry for today’s Ichthyomancy.
