Matt Lindstrom sent down

Matt Lindstrom is now in Albuquerque.

After their loss to the Rays on Tuesday, the Marlins optioned reliever Matt Lindstrom to Triple-A Albuquerque. Lindstrom went 1-1 with a 5.18 ERA in 30 games this season.

Lindstrom needs to work on his breaking pitches which were either hanging or causing the catcher to lunge desperately in order to keep them from going to screen.  Which makes Albuquerque a curious spot to send him.  But then again, the Inn may be full in Carolina.

I have no idea who will be called up at this point, but my guess is Tankersley will rejoin the team.

Guy reminds me of my friend Sean Gallagher

rookie for the Cubs, I played Little League with him and watched him all through high school.. back to the point, Lindstrom has an electric fastball, but needs a reliable breaking ball and probably a stiff changeup to be effective in the majors. When Sean wasn’t hitting his curve, guys sat on the fastball and whacked it outta the park, and he was sent back down last season after only a few appearances. Lindstrom may be in the same position…
