Rebelo demoted

The Marlins have demoted catcher Mike Rabelo, whose mistakes on Sunday proved costly in a 7-1 loss to the Oakland A's.

Rabelo was optioned to Triple A Albuquerque.

The Marlins called up catcher Paul Hoover and also added outfielder Josh Willingham to the roster. Willingham has been on the disabled list since April 28 with a back injury.

Rabelo, who was among the six players the Marlins obtained in their trade with Detroit in December, allowed one run to score on Sunday because of a passed ball. The A's pushed three more runs across when he failed to tag a runner on a play at the plate to complete a double play.

Playing time for the 28-year-old catcher had diminished, with Matt Treanor assuming most of the catching duties.

maybe

a quick trip down the minors will wake him up… he was sleepwalking through the A’s game, just didn’t look like he had a clue what was going on.

What???

Hoover? Paul Hoover, again????

When are they going to give John Baker a shot? This is getting ridiculous.
