The Marlins welcome the Rays to JRS tonight.  Historically, the Marlins own this series with a 20-9 record over the Rays.  But in our last meeting the Fish dropped 2 of 3 in Tropicana.

Olsen will be looking to rebound off his last start in Seattle.  Which was definitely not his best effort but defense didn't exactly help out either.  Scott has seemly got a handle on that home run yielding bugaboo.  In the past he has been pretty tough on the Rays posting a 0.77 ERA in his two starts against the instate rivals.

Sonnanstine is coming off two wins in-a-row but he rarely gets to the six inning.  One of those wins was against the Marlins were he 5.1 innings, giving up 3 ER on 6 hits.  Sonnanstine depends on run support which his teammates have gladly given him this season.

I would expect to see Willingham in left field tonight..

Ichthyomancy is ready to get the week started and return the hospitality the Rays showed us in St. Pete.  Best of Luck to Everyone!

Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; but if a thing is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

My name is Kevin Gregg, and I care

I don’t chew, I don’t dip, I don’t smoke, and I don’t get a save without walking at least one guy, allowing a hit, and making everything way closer than it should be.

“Would you rather have a root canal or go to a Marleeens game?” – Joey the Fish

I’ll take the root canal. Less painful.

by Matt Wilson on Jun 24, 2008 10:19 PM EDT   0 recs

To me....

you worry about first things first. And the first step is not to lose the game.

by craig on Jun 24, 2008 10:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Pain

As much as I want to blame Pinto, there wasn’t much he could have done. Those two infield singles were BS luck/poor fielding.

by Matt Wilson on Jun 24, 2008 10:43 PM EDT   0 recs

Another random thought...

Tosca: “Fredi, should we pinch run Andino?”
Fredi: “Who?”
Tosca: “Robert Andino, our bench utility infielder?”
Fredi: “Hm, never heard of him. I think I’d like to see something out of him before I actually let him enter a game.”

by Matt Wilson on Jun 24, 2008 10:48 PM EDT   0 recs

I really need to stop going to games

1-1… but the win came after i left.

We really need to worry about trading for a fresh middle reliever, screw a closer or starter..

by jrsyeagle on Jun 24, 2008 11:37 PM EDT   0 recs

that's what I said in yesterday's chum bucket.

the pen is falling apart. Man, I really wish we still had Lee Gardner.

I wonder when Henry Owens is supposed to be back.
