Chum Bucket

The Marlins finally finished up their 20 games in 20 days and get a well deserved day off.  The Fish went 9-11 in the 20 games which isn't too bad considering 13 games were on the road.  Actually the Marlins could've easily had a winning record over the time span but the bullpen had some problems in the early part of the 20.

But that was then, this is now.  The Marlins are two games out of first and headed to Oakland.

However, in the meantime we have ourselves a Chum Bucket.  So feel free to comment on anything that strikes your fancy.  You could comment on Tiger's knee surgery and how the sponsors of professional golf will need to be talked down from the ledge.  Perhaps you like to discuss the seeding a Wimbledon, don't know exactly what you have to say, but maybe you have something on your mind.

My thoughts will probably be centered around the College World Series.  Sadly, Rice, Miami and FSU have all been eliminated, but that doesn't mean I won't watch.

But this a Chum Bucket and as such is a open thread, so knock yourselves out.

And as always, Have a Great Day!

I'll bite

Tiger won a major championship a month after having his knee scoped, played 91 holes, and hit two bigtime putts on the final hole to force and then win the playoff. And he did it all on a torn ACL and stress fracture. There is No Doubt he is the greatest golfer of all time.

Anybody here a Heat Fan? Who do you want them to draft?

Rose!

But we’ll get Beasley, unless we make a dumb trade.

Miami’s loss is depressing. That was a great team (at least before the CWS), easily the best since our last title-winners. And to think they were winning that first game in the ninth and lost it on a throwing error. It so very…um…Marlins-ish.

Also, Craig – I had Cantu in last night’s game. Thanks!

I want Rose, but I was content with landing Beasley….until today.

He’s only 6’8”?!? The whole year in NCAA they were saying he’s 6’10” a perfect PF in the NBA. At 6’8” you would have to assume Haslem would stick with the PF and we would have to make Beasley a SF, but we still have marion there and wade at SG. It’s a mess.

BROOK LOPEZ!!!!!!

mind you basketball isn’t my strong suit, but I just don’t see another SF fitting in our roster when we need a big man and a point.

Well I think you have to figure

that Marion won’t be here past ‘09, whether he opts out, we trade him, or he leaves when his contract expires. And he isn’t a very good fit on a halfcourt team, which we are, especially when the Heat need 3pt shooters to spread the floor for Wade. Beasley has a game that’s like a combination of Lamar Odom and Carmelo Anthony. He can score inside and out in a variety of ways, ala ‘Melo, and he has guard-like quickness and handle, similar to Odom. I think he’ll be a very good SF. Once you get Beasley, you move Marion for a big, and try to get by for a season with Banks at the point, unless you can get one through another trade or find a gem in FA.

uh...

they’d be interested in trading for a hurt guy to replace another hurt guy?

Firstly

hammer could be back tomorrow. If not they say Tuesday at the latest…

Stark reiterated Gammons point, saying the marlins are shopping for a CF, C, and RP and are interested in trading Hammer-type arbitration player for someone better /with less service time…
