Jorge Cantu making money

Jorge Cantu is meeting all the incentives or at least is on track to .

Cantu shouldn't have trouble meeting all four incentive clauses in his contract. He stands to collect an additional $100,000 over his $500,000 base salary if he totals 400 plate appearances.

Entering Wednesday's game he was nearly half way there with 298. Cantu already met the first incentive clause, which called for a $25,000 bonus for 250 plate appearances. The minor league deal he signed also calls for $25,000 each for 300, 350 and 400 plate appearances.

Now, I'm no math whiz but it seems to me that 298 is more than half of 400.  Yes, I know the author of the article meant it in terms of possible moneys earned through incentives.  But still, plate appearances are the trigger and Cantu is well beyond the half way mark.

And yes, I'm being pedantic.  And yes, I don't hold myself to the same standard.  However, I'm not getting paid to do this.  What that has to do with anything, who knows.  But it sounded like a justification in my mind.

Anyway, Cantu is well on his way to collecting an extra hundred grand for the season.
