Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

When do you start making callups???

I understand that Jorge Cantu and Wes Helms are playing 3B fairly well, but did you forget about Dallas McPherson at AAA?  He has 21 home runs this season and a .400+ OBP.  I'm sure that Cantu could play some corner outfield if necessary?

Is Ross Wolf going to get called up soon?  Sure, it has been only 10 innings since coming off of the DL, but a 1.03 whip and a 1.69 era this season...Pretty impressive thus far.  He doesn't walk people so that's a plus as well.  He competes on every pitch and won't give in.

And I think Maybin should be forgotten until September...He's only in AA...What's the rush?

McDallas

AAA Albuquerque is a hitter’s paradise, plus DMac has nearly 100 strikeouts on the season already. I honestly don’t see him as more than trade bait with some of the younger guys like Coghlan and Dominguez as long-term options.

If any pitcher gets called up from AAA, I’d say it’ll be Eulogio de la Cruz. But my money would be on Volstad coming up from Carolina first. Hendrickson can only tread water for so long…

How about..

trading Cantu or Jacobs, playing the other at first, and playing Helms full-time at third. Then trying to get a veteran starting pitcher for the pennant race?

that starter might be josh johnson!

he is scheduled to be ready by the allstar break great news and also anibal sanchez is also to be ready 3 weeks after johnson great news if we get both of them for the last 2 month run with a rotation of johnson, sanchez, nolasco, miller, and tucker/volstad if volstad gets called up then tucker and be in the pen or back to the minors wow that rotation would be pretty hard to beat a couple of times in a row and hendrickson really needs to be gone
