Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Royals at Marlins (5/16)

Kansas City Royals at Miami Marlins, May 16, 2008 7:10 PM EDT

The NL East Leading Marlins will welcome the Kansas City Royals to JRS for the first time ever. The Royals are the only MLB team to never play in JRS, that will be rectified tonight.

Normally you would be seeing that game thing in a box, but due to the rain out, it has the starters wrong, so it's up to me.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Andrew Miller. Miller pitched two excellent starts in his last two outings. But it is the same as it has been all season, if the control is there, he is nasty. If not, there is a reason the folks in the press box bring their gloves to the games when he pitches. (Yes, I'm exaggerating the latter but it makes the story more interesting.)

The Royals are going with Brett Tomko. Tomko has been all over the map as a starter, most of his starts haven't been very good, but every now and then he throws a gem. Tomko also strikeouts almost 3 to 1 than he walks. So the ball should be somewhere around the plate tonight.

Game time is 7:10 p.m.

If you are going to game tonight, if you can, take along a blanket. At gates F and H they will be collecting them to help out the Camillus House. Blankets will also be collected for Saturday's game. So if you're a college student getting a blanket to donate should be easy -- your roommate has to leave the dorm room some time. If you know what I mean...and I think you do. Oh, if you bring a blanket and you are one of the first 100 to do so, you get two vouchers for a future Marlins game.

Ichthyomancy is liking that it is Friday. Good Luck!

If your AAB didn't hit, I would've been shocked.

The only way it wasn’t going to happen is if he got injured by the second inning.

But I will count it.

Wah!

That’s two comebacks or near-comebacks wasted in two nights.

We need to get off the schneid tomorrow. Enough of this losing crap!
