Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Brewers (4/27)
Miami Marlins at Milwaukee Brewers, Apr 27, 2008 2:05 PM EDT
The NL East Leading Marlins will close out the seven-game road trip with today's game in Milwaukee. And so far the road trip has gone W-L-W-L-W-L-?. While I don't possess the Rosetta Stone and haven't taken a standardized test in quite some time, I think I can guess what completes the pattern.
Nolasco is starting to come around, in his last outing he didn't tire until the end of the sixth inning. Like most of the Marlins starters, day games aren't his forte or at least they haven't been in the past. So far this season he has made two relief appearances in day games and did quite well in them.
I must admit I don't know very much about Parra. This will be his seventh start of his career and he has never faced the Marlins. Parra, they tell me, has four pitches, what those pitches are -- I do not know. He averages about a strikeout an inning but is also very hittable. I guess we will see which is the more dominate when facing the Fish. Parra is a lefty so look for Cody to play somewhere.
Mike Jacobs will not start today due to spraining his finger in last night's game, he is day-to-day. So either Wes Helms will start at first or Amezaga or Andino will start at third and Cantu will man first. Or I suppose, Helms could start at third and Cantu at first. We should know in a couple of hours.
Ichthyomancy is far from ready for another day game, but will make do. Don't forget your Sausage picks and if anyone sees the results of the race, please share it with the rest of us. Good Luck!
