Today's posts are very few since the server maintenance really put a crimp in my style.  While this is probably good news for you cuz I wanted to bore you with more stuff.  But alas.

Anyway, onto the game.

The NL East Leading Marlins are in Atlanta to take on the Braves.

Miller most likely had the quintessential quote about his progress so far this season .

''I know I can't pitch like this all year, or I won't be here very long at all,'' he said.

It all comes down to control and consistency of his pitches.  Andrew has the stuff he just needs to master it.

Bennett will be making his third start of the season for the Braves.  Up to this point he has yet to go five innings in a start.  It's not that he has pitched badly as a starter but it more due to he is by trade a reliever and isn't stretched out yet.  The Marlins have seen him before this season when he was relieving.  You remember that PH HR by Gonzo, Bennett was on the mound.

Ichthyomancy is still in catch up mode, but is ready for new picks.  Good Luck!

It all comes full circle...

Fangraphs is building its historical stats starting with 1974. So who comes out as the Clutchiest hitter in 1974? Well, John Lowenstein. But who was second?

Tommy Hutton.

Clutchiness: the gift that keeps on giving, especially now that people besides me are doing it.

Ichthyomancy cancelled for tonight's game

Due to the site being down and not allowing everyone a chance to make their picks, the only fair thing to do is cancel tonight’s edition. Tomorrow everything should be good to go.

The reason for the downtime had something to do last night’s server maintenance. But the tech guys think they have the problem fixed now.

I sincerely apologize for the downtime and the resulting cancellation of Wednesday’s Ichthyomancy contest. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully everything will return to normal.

On a positive note: The Fish Won!!!

I'm sure or at least I couldn't get in and I wasn't the only one judging by my email.

Sorry about that, I know it sucks.

If it makes you feel any better, I do owe you a point which I will include tomorrow.
