Lee Gardner on the DL

As Ramp reported in the comments yesterday, Lee Gardner was placed on the DL.

Right elbow inflammtion has landed reliever Lee Gardner on the disabled list. The Marlins have selected the contract of right-hander Doug Waechter from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace him.

Waechter will earn the prorated share of $410,000 while he's on the 25-man roster.

With the higher payday Waechter should be able to afford some new tires for his car. (It's an inside joke/story that I may explain another day.)

In order to make room for Waechter on the 40-man roster, the Marlins moved Sergio Mitre to the 60-day DL.
