Radio reception
Has anyone else encountered a problem with the radio reception from station 790? It seems as the broadcast comes in loud and clear for the first few innings and then it is like some one "pulled the plug" as the volume goes way down and interference way up!
This has not been a problem in past years. I first noticed it during spring training this year and now I'm wondering if it has something to do with the new radio affiliate...

560
Always had that problem with 560 too. Apparently some station from Cuba was bleeding all over their signal. I'm not sure if that's the case with 790, but interference from far off lands becomes stronger at night, which is why it probably gets worse later in the game.

It's not that the interference gets stronger at night it's that the FCC requires most radio stations to power down at night. Since stations from Cuba aren't governed by our FCC the lower power on our stations means we get more bleed through from the stations there that are using the same frequencies. The further you are from the station's tower the more you will be affected because fewer watts mean less range.
