Comcast is not playing ball

I hope you don't count on Comcast for your Marlins viewing pleasure.  Because if you do, you're about to be disappointed.

For the second straight year, Comcast has not entered into an agreement with Sun Sports and Fox Sports Net to offer the cable networks’ 55-game expanded package of Florida Marlins games. Fifty of the 55 are on Sun Sports — including Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

The other five are on Fox Sports Net Florida — April 11, April 15, April 16, April 19 and April 23.

---

Without the expanded package, Comcast, which is the main cable provider in Southwest Florida, offers 95 games on FSN Florida.

That sucks!

Cable...

I get much less than 95 games on Cox Cable in Gainesville.

We get the standard package of games, then split that in half with the Tampa games. PLUS no FSN HD. Not to mention that MLB.tv would still black me out if I bought it (don't get me started on MLB's archaic blackout rules).

Actually Cox in Gainesville is now offering all 150 Marlins TV games

Cox in Gainesville has entered into an agreement for all the Marlins games this season, so you should get all 105 on FSN Florida and all 50 scheduled on sister network Sun Sports.

The 75 Rays games that air on FSN Florida are also available to you, but they do not pre-empt Marlins games. The Rays games on FSN FLorida either air on different days or the Marlins game may be on Sun Sports when a Rays game is airing on FSN FL.

Comcast Continues To Drop The Ball

I know the feeling with Comcast. They don't offer the extra 55 games outside of Metro South Florida basically.

My parents have Dish Network with all 150 games including the 75 HD telecasts, but if they had Comcast Cape Coral they wouldn't have the extra games just like Comcast Tallahassee doesn't have them.

It is about time that Comcast stops being so cheap (they are more expensive than the Dish companies) and pay FSN the money for the extra 55 games.

I wish I could get a Dish here in Tallahassee....stupid trees. SlingBox FTW!
