Kevin Gregg will be just fine
As it turns out Kevin Gregg definitely has a closer's mentality.
After the Cardinals' Skip Schumaker, Joe Mather and Albert Pujols homered in five pitches, Troy Glaus struck out.
"He must have had a piece of dirt in his eye," Gregg said about Glaus.
He went on to add this:
---
'I'm just glad I don't have to pitch in the fifth inning during the year. I want to stay away from that inning,'' Gregg said. ``It's spring training and you're working on some stuff, and there are some sequences I normally wouldn't use during the season. There are some pitches I'm working on so I wanted to get those in, especially since the first few outings were so short.''
Gregg was working on his slider. Until recently, the Marlins pitchers were instructed to throw only fast balls and change ups. Now we are at the point where they are trying to work on their breaking balls in "game" situations.
Always remember the rally cry: They don't put Spring Training Stats on the back of Trading Cards!

Pujols...
Hope he didn't ruin our closer like he did with Brad Lidge!
That said, spring means nada.
