Game Today

The Marlins welcome the Mets to Jupiter this afternoon.

The Marlins starting pitcher will be Mark Hendrickson with Chris Volstad figuring in the mix somewhere.

The Mets will send to the hill John Maine followed by Matt Wise, Pedro Feliciano and Jorge Sosa.

Game is, of course, at 1:05 p.m.

The game will not be broadcast on local radio.  So heading out to Jupiter may be your best bet.

Judging by my record of getting the magic updating box score posted, I will probably fail today also.  But maybe not, stranger things have happened.  Should I keep streak alive it would be much appreciated if someone would post it in the comments.

Oh, if you haven't checked out Mrslim's diary post, you really should.  He created a design of what he feels the new stadium should look like.  I'm no architect, but it looks like to me he put a lot of time and thought into coming up with the renderings.  Now all we have to do is to find a way to get him on staff with H+O+K.

Anyway, it is the normal Game Today thread, meaning it is an open thread.  So have at it.

And as always. Have a Great Day!

More homers.
That's their problem. You hit homers, you don't leave men on base. They need to hit more homers. Everyone swing for the fences.

Game Today
Lacking an update here's a little one with the expected box scores.  Sorry if they don't work.
Split Squad today.
Game1 vs Orioles in Fort Lauderdale @ 1:05

Game2 vs Cards in Jupiter @ 7:05.

If you have time, go to both.  I have no idea who's playing in what game.  This is harder than Craig makes it look.

In other news:
Lindstrom has the fastest fastball
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/baseball/marlins/sfl-flspmarlins05sbmar05,0,7363489.story

According to The Bill James Handbook, Lindstrom's 96.6 mph average fastball was tops among all relievers. He clocked in at just over a full mile per hour ahead of American League leader Zach Greinke and Brad Lidge, both of whom registered 95.4 mph fastballs on average.

Marlins don't like multi-year signings, we all know that, but they're the only team that hasn't made one since 2006.  Hopefully this changes as we get closer to the new stadium.

Oh well
looks like craig woke up after all.
Nevermind.

Come to - maybe
Woke up - highly doubtful.

Especially considering I'm living in the same thought haze I always live in.

But it is nice thought nonetheless.
