Alfredo was busy boy this offseaon which included convincing his sweetheart to marry him.

Alfredo Amezaga lost his favorite dance partner in the biggest headline trade of the winter. But the Marlins' multipositional workhorse gained a wife when he married his long-time sweetheart.

I did find something interesting in the story.

His wife, he said, is the dream of his life.

''I'm in love with her,'' he said. '. . . She doesn't know anything about baseball. Even if I strike out three times, she always shakes my hand and says, `You did a good job.' She doesn't know even if I have a bad day.''

Alfredo, buddy, a handshake? Far be it from me to give advice when it comes to matters of the heart, but I think you are selling yourself short. At least go for a hug, it is so much better than a handshake.

Once again, listening to me can be damaging to your relationship.
