Weekend Chum Bucket

As the baseball world heads to Vegas in preparation for the winter meetings which start on Monday, we are left with another Weekend Chum Bucket.

The weekend version of the Chum Bucket is exactly like the weekday version except it is one day longer.  So that said, you can discuss anything that comes to your mind, whether it be about the Marlins or not.

In sports tonight, it is the usual lineup of college football, college basketball and some pro stuff.  Speaking of college football, man, did Ball State ever pick a bad time to forget how to hold onto the ball.  That said, congratulations to Buffalo on winning the MAC.

I'm sure there is a lot more to cover, but I can't think of what it is at moment.  So as it has been said many times, many ways.....

Have a Great Weekend!

GO GATORS

BCS BS

I’m a neutral observer regarding the UF-Bama game, but what do you think about the possibility of the Gators beating Bama (which they will), but the computers not bumping them up to No. 1 (assuming the Sooners win, which they will)? Texas-OU play for the Nat’l Championship.

I think

the more likely BCS meltdown would be florida beating bama by 1 or 2 or 3 and then the computers assign the BCS game as a UF/BAMA rematch. We need a 16 team playoff. 5 at large… all 11 conferences get a seat for their champ. LETS DO IT.

If florida wins (which you are right, they will) it is IMPOSSIBLE that the gators are not at least #2 in the BCS. The computers love florida and they love bama. It’s a lock that the winner plays here at Marlins Stadium.

A massive mishap by the BCS would probably help us geta playoff though. I would just rather that mishap have Florida included in the BCS title game.

Dan Wetzel's perfect plan.

The playoff thing is one of the most irritating things in my entire life. I will never get over this. Dan Wetzel over at Yahoo has written up his analysis on how a playoff would work the last couple of years. Sounds like you read his article. His analysis is from last week so its not updated.
I would highly recommend reading it. It makes absolute sense. It would make march madness look like an AAU tourney. This would dominate national news and bring in countless more dollars than the garbage bowl system does now. It is a travesty and a portrait on how corruption still rules athletics.

It's supposedly impossible.

If Florida beats ‘Bama, they’re either 1 or 2 in the BCS guaranteed, according to the “experts.” In other words, if Florida wins, there’s no way Texas gets to the title game.

If Florida beats ‘Bama, Texas’ only hope at a title is that they shellack their bowl opponent (probably Ohio State in the Fiesta), while Okiahoma and UF/’Bama stage an ugly-fest full of turnovers, penalties, and missed scoring opportunities. The AP voters would then put Texas at #1.

The AP poll isn’t tied to the BCS, so they can award Texas a share of the national title just as past polls did with USC and LSU.

Texas

All I can say is that we got screwed by the Bullsh*t Computer Sh*theads system. How we got leaped by OU after 45-35 is unheard of.

True enough

I would say the Big XII screwed them to start with though by not anticipating a 3 way tie where the winner lost to a team ranked below them, A COMMON OCCURRENCE!!!

BCS screwed all of us out of a good game though, I wanted Texas vs Alabama dang it.

as a Miami Hurricane, I feel for you.

We got the Royal BCS Screwjob in 2000, when we beat FSU and they went to the title game regardless. The BCS is a steaming pile of crap.
