Hanley Ramirez Rumor

Reports from credible sources claim the Red Sox recently approached the marlins about dealing SS Hanley Ramirez.    With a package led by SP Clay Buchholz and Jacoby Ellsbury, how many more players/prospects need to be included?  My guess is three - SS Jed Lowrie and two top prospects like fire-balling lefty reliever Daniel Bard and 1B Lars Anderson.

I don't believe the Marlins need Ellsbury, though.  The fact the rumored deal included Ellsbury in the lead raises a red flag.  After dealing their other CF Coco Crisp, one would think the Red Sox would want to hold on to Ellsbury.

Its already done...

There will be no Hanley deal. The fact that they asked for so many prospects is kind of a slap in the face.

no way in hell they trade Hanley just yet

maybe in 2013 or so, but trading him right now would be a huge mistake

MLB-Rays,Marlins,Twins, and Reds
NFL-Vikings,Lions(i know Shut up),texans, and Bills
NBA-Timberwolves(also shut up),Cavilers(bye bye LeBron in '10)
NHL- Wild and Penguins
College-Gophers,Gators,Longhorns and Irish.

Ten days after the GM meetings, Epstein called Marlins GM Larry Beinfest and asked him if he were interested in trading Hanley Ramirez for a package including Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz. “No,” replied Beinfest. End of discussion. “The entire conversation,” says one club official, “lasted all of 20 seconds, a week before Thanksgiving.”

haha
