Marlins organization helping out

The Florida Marlins did what they do best....helping out others.

Christmas came a little early for some thankful young adults from the Pembroke Pines Transitional Independent Living Housing program.

The 18 to 22-year olds, who aged out of the state's foster care program without being adopted, received $100 gift cards for a shopping spree at Wal-mart in Pembroke Pines thanks to a donation by the Florida Marlins...

---

During the shopping spree, all of the young adults had just one thing in mind – the essentials; no flashy items and no gifts for themselves. Sequoia Martinez went Christmas shopping for her 3-month-old baby and her nephew. British Ownes stocked up on frozen food.

As I have said many times before, the Marlins do a wonderful job of giving back to the community and this is no exception.
