Chum Bucket

It's Friday!  Woo Hoo!

So like every offseason Friday before it, we have a Chum Bucket.

Let's see what is on the sports tube, pro basketball, hockey and Montana at James Madison in college football.  Now, that maybe your idea of a good time and if it is, feel free to chime in.

As for me, who the Marlins will tender contracts to and who they won't, if anyone, will get most of my attention.  But that Montana at James Madison game looks tempting.  I didn't even know James Madison still had a football team.  I really shouldn't put the game down, it may end up being the best college football game of the season.  Who knows.

Should you not want to talk about sports of any kind, pick your topic and go for it.  You never can tell who will join in.

But whatever the case, Have a Great Day!

Amezega

Is it just me, or is Amezega more valuable as a bench player than a starter? I mean what’s it worth to have 1 guy who can play starter-caliber defense at every position except catcher? In terms of flexibility on your bench, most clubs would have to have 3 guys to do what Amezega does.

agreed.

He’s the epitome of a successful utility player. You can plug him in just about anywhere, and he’ll play outstanding defense and get the occasional clutch hit. But he tends to wear down if he starts too many consecutive games, and I don’t think he offers enough at the plate to be a starter. Every team needs a guy like that, though they don’t necessarily need him the starting lineup.

yep

I’ll go you one further and state for the record that he is the greatest utility player in the history of the game. Seriously. Ok, then, if not Alfredo, who?

I love amezaga

and I wouldn’t want to trade him for just anyone… but I really think he deserves a shot at a starting SS gig, for his sake…

Starting

I agree with you, for Alfredo’s sake, he should start. I mean everybody wants to be in the starting lineup and he may be a great starting middle IF somewhere, but I still think he’s more valuable (to any team really) coming off the bench than as a starter.

I have to say

SO DISAPPOINTED joe Nelson will not be back next your. He was one of the few guys I came to enjoy and rely on out of the pen this season
