Chum Bucket
Whoa! I'm running behind today.
In sports, we are looking at basketball and hockey. Basketball is of the college and pro variety, hockey is the NHL kinda game. If any of these interest you, go for it. As for me, I have no opinion.
Should sports not be your weapon of choice today, you could recite the Wednesday Mickey Mouse Club song and if you know what it is, you're doing better than me. Of course, if Mickey Mouse Club songs aren't your thing, and really are they anyone's? (Personally, I only know the Tuesday song, for some weird reason. Though perhaps Lady Fish knows them all, which would be cool.)
Anyways, comment on anything that strikes your fancy.
And as always, Have a Great Day!

Help wanted?
I was layed off, after six years, on Monday….. So I am at home watching the Padres at Marlins encore game from May 2nd!
Ugh.
Does anyone know of a good job opportunity for a smart, multi-talented veteran?

That sucks big-time.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I don’t know of any opportunities off-hand (I’m thankful just to still have my own job), but what kind of work do you do?

Game over man, game over!
Besides pizza delivery boy…?! I’ve been a welder, aircraft (Airframe & Powerplant) mechanic, veterinary ultrasound salesman and shipping/receiving manager.
I’m hopefull of finding something decent sooner than later. Speaking of which, I should probably be looking for something rather than watching baseball!

well,
there’s nothing wrong with clearing your head by watching some baseball before you hit the job market. At least you’ve got a wealth of versatile skills and experience; it’s far better than having been a fishing-lure maker or something.

That does indeed suck...
I don’t know if you know about the following site:
It is the clearinghouse for all Federal Government Jobs. The Federal Government hires in any economic environment and they employ individuals in all major metropolitan areas in more fields than most people are aware. And it is the government, so you don’t have to be a perfect fit.
I did a search for Miami and there are some openings which might be of interest. to you. The other thing is the Fed sets aside jobs for only which veterans can apply. I didn’t notice any of these in Miami, but I was looking very quickly.
Hope that helps. Be it known I’m rooting for you and I’m willing to make a rally beer run on your behalf.
