Florida Marlins season ticket sales going great?

PrintThe South Florida Business Journal reports that the Florida Marlins season ticket renewal rate is good.
The Florida Marlins report their season ticket renewal rate is running at 70 percent – some 20 percentage points higher than normal – with a boost from the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
Uh, huh.
It is true the Marlins are offering WBC games in the season ticket packages.
Season Ticket Holders get:
- Prime Seating
- Huge Savings
- Exclusive Access to Players and Coaches
- World Baseball Classic - Savings of Box Office Prices and Priority on Tickets - Prior to Public Sale
So let me get this straight, the Marlins, who had approximately 10,000 season ticket holders last year, including the Saturday package holders and other partial season ticket packages have now re-signed 7,000 of them. Not too bad for a metropolitan area of 5 million people.
That WBC thing has been quite a boost.
