Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

LDS Open Thread and Ichthyomancy (Day One)

The regular season is over and let the playoffs begin.

Ichthyomancy is somewhat different during the playoffs, you won't be picking an attendance figure, since all games should be sellouts, and instead you will be choosing the winning team.  However, it is not just limited to one game.

Here is how it works: you will be picking the winning team for every game that is played on that day.  In addition you will choose a player of the game, it can be from either team, and an AAB pick for the late game only.

You are not required to make a selection in every category.  Let's say your schedule doesn't permit you to enter the winning team for the 3:00 p.m. game and you are only able to make selections for the 10:00 p.m. game, that's fine.  Just do what you can.

The games for today:

Game One: Brewers (Gallardo) at Phillies (Hamels),3:07 p.m.

Game Two: Dodgers (Lowe) at Cubs (Dempster), 6:37 p.m.

Game Three: Red Sox (Lester) at Angels (Lackey). 10:07 p.m.

To recap: choose the winner for each game.  In the late game pick a player of the game and make an AAB selection.  Three players from each team, of  the late game, will be selected as the player of the game.  Your name will be added to the Ichthyomancy table, when you make your selections.

Best of Luck to You!

Anger!

The Fish cut Waechter, Gardner and Owens.

They CAN’T cut Henry Owens! He gave me an autographed ball!

Waechter

I thought he had potential to be a pretty darn good long reliever…

They didn't cut him per say

they were out righted to triple A to work on the 40 man roster

Owens, Gardner and De Aza went to triple A and are under contract

Waechter is the only one that could leave because of it, from what I gather. I don’t think owens, de aza or gardner have enough service time yet. Don’t forget… waechter only signed a minor league contract and is up for arbitration; i don’t see why we wouldn’t at least try to go through it with him

That's good to know

He probably wouldn’t be too expensive in arbitration….
