Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Phillies at Marlins (9/1)

The Marlins will give it another shot tonight and hopefully start out September better than August ended.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Byung-Hyun Kim.

The Philliies have on the slate, J.D. Durbin.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Kim will be making his first start since becoming a Marlin again for the second time this season.  The good thing about Kim is that he is able to eat innings, no matter how he is pitching in the game.  Righties have only been able to post an .218 BAA off him this season while lefties are enjoying more success at a rate of .296.

Durbin is once again a part of the Phillies starting staff and that is a role he will probably inhabit for the rest of the season.  Strangely, when he starts, he does his best work on the road.  In three road starts this season he has posted a 1.29 ERA.

Once again we have a Super Saturday at hand and that means the promotions department has found more stuff to handout.

The first 25,000 through the gates will get Marlins Maracas.  I'm guessing you won't need to knock over any old women or children in a rush to get one.  There should be plenty for all.

Also tonight, if you are one of the first 5,000 cars you will receive a Marlins Car Flashlight.  The flashlight may be a little harder to obtain than the maracas.  However, I don't think it will require some of your best NASCAR moves in order to get one.  But if are in the last car to arrive in the parking lot tonight, you may be out of luck.

Tonight's post game entertainment is Issac Delgado & Victor Manuelle and the fireworks spectacular follows as usual.

Ichthyomancy is running late but is ready to go.

Dude
I got home in the second inning, it took me until the bottom of the 3rd to realize it was actually the Marlins winning!

Save Opp!
Benitez is in, since we've only got a 5 run lead, looks like Gregg may get a save opportunity!
