Nolasco still recovering

Ricky Nolasco, when he is ready, if he is ready, will more than likely pitch out of the bullpen.

Sidelined right-hander Ricky Nolasco (elbow) threw two scoreless innings for the Gulf Coast League Marlins on Thursday. His return is uncertain, but when he does come back Nolasco likely is headed to the bullpen.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez said it was "60-40" Nolasco returns as a reliever.

---

"If we want him back this year, it'll be faster for him to be in the bullpen," said Gonzalez, adding that Nolasco would spend the better part of August getting stretched out in the minors if he comes back as a starter. "The most important thing is he's healthy and then we'll see where he can help us."

While Ricky would be a welcomed addition to the team, there is no reason to rush him back just to fill out the bullpen for this season.
