PrintAs Jim B reported in yesterday's Open Thread, Mike Jacobs is now a daddy.
During Saturday night's game, Mike Jacobs received word that his wife, Vanessa, was about to go into labor.
Immediately after the game, Jacobs got on a flight that left San Francisco about 11:30 p.m. PT.
On Sunday morning, from his home in South Florida, Jacobs informed the Marlins that he has become a father to twin girls.
Vanessa was due in early September, but the twins were born Saturday night.
In a text message to manager Fredi Gonzalez, Jacobs said his wife and newborns are all fine.
Congratulations to Mike and Vanessa!
