Around SBN: The Week In Worst: When Baseball Goes Wrong

Day Off Today

The Marlins have returned home to South Florida and will spend the day doing who knows what - since we have an off day.

The Padres come to town tomorrow, but that is tomorrow and we will worry about that then.  For now, it is just kick back and relax.  Something we do very well in this part of Florida.

Naturally, this an open thread so knock yourselves out with anything you would like to discuss.  Be it baseball, always a crowd favorite, or the latest movie you saw or anything else for that matter.  Pretty much everything is open game.

Have a most excellent Thursday!

I think youre looking in the wrong place
For the man the Marlins will send down. We have logged more bullpen innings than anyone in the majors, and need as much pitching help as we can get. When Mitre comes back, Eric Reed should get send down because a) we're not using him, and b)he blows.
I can't believe Mike doesn't remember Ocala - he was having a GREAT time!

You could very well be right
But that would give the Marlins 13 pitchers and 12 position players, and most teams won't do that.  It tends to hurt the flexibility off the bench, especially for a NL club.

In terms of sending the least productive member of the team down, your right, it would be Reed.  But if you do that, it would restrict the amount of position player moves (i.e. double switches, pinch hitting, pinch runners) more than the organization is probably willing to do.

But you may be right.

When Julio comes up this weekend one of the bullpen members will be sent down, so if doesn't happen with Mitre, it will with Julio.

I agree about Reed
In some completely unrelated news, anyone know if Dex plans on stopping by? It's been awhile. A long while.
And in some even more completely unrelated news, I'm going to the midnight screening of Spider-Man 3 tonight. I'll let you guys know if it's any good.
I'm doin the Fish again. (Yeah, yeah, yeah.)
