Weekend Open Thread

Yeaaaaa......The Weekend!

Once again it is time for the weekend open thread and you know the drill.  Discuss or make declarative statements about anything that comes to your mind.  If you are looking for a topic, the NFL is starting up their playoffs also there is a mess of basketball games and probably hockey too.  And who knows how many other sports I left out.  But the weekend open thread isn't limited to sports, oh no, it is multifaceted.  Anything and everything is up for grabs here.  So if your heart desires, discuss away.

And as always, Have a great weekend!

My Multifaceted Declarative Statement
Football is Boring!

But we've all heard the classic baseball nicknames, "Shoeless Joe", "Mr October", "Sea Bass" anyone?...

No offence but I think that "Oogie" is a stretch (No Joe!) and "Hammer" is to obvious.

We can be more creative.

I think you guys can do better then me but here's mine..

Miguel "Chavez" Cabrera (he looks just like him)

Dontrelle "Iron Worker" Willis.

Who's with me!

Here's espns page 2 Honorable Mention:

"Nails" (Lenny Dykstra), "Iron Horse" (Lou Gehrig), "The Ryan Express" (Nolan Ryan), "The Mad Hungarian" (Al Hrabosky), "The Human Rain Delay" (Mike Hargrove), "Death to Flying Things" (Bob Ferguson), "El Guapo" (Rich Garces), "Dr. Strangeglove" (Dick Stewart), "Crime Dog" (Fred McGriff), "The Bird" (Mark Fidrych), "Space Man" (Bill Lee), "Wild Thing" (Mitch Williams), "The Big Unit" (Randy Johnson), "The Big Hurt" (Frank Thomas), "Yogi" (Lawrence Berra), "The Rocket" (Roger Clemens)

I'm all for it
I'm not that creative but surely we can come up with some interesting nicknames.  It may take a bit of trial and error but who knows, maybe one will stick.

Willingham
I thought the Hammer part was fine when combined with the home state, i.e. "The Alabama Hammah" or some such.

And I propose Anibal "The Boy Wonder" Sanchez.
