Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Mets at Marlins (8/2)

After last night's exhilarating win the team is at it again tonight.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Ricky Nolasco.  The Mets plan to trot out Steve Trachsel to the hill.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

I'm starting to think I am jinxing the Marlins pitchers every time I praise them.  So with that in mind, yeah, this Nolasco fellow wasn't awful in his last three starts.

Trachsel had been outstanding winning 7 starts in a row before his last two outings, which didn't go so well.

Ichthyomancy is fair game.  Be sure to get your picks in on time.

Here's today's Ichthyomancy pick table:

FishStriper Attendance Player AAB

Please . . .

It's great to see . .
that JoeBo pitches as well in non-save situations as he does in save situations.

LOL
I had looked away and was confused by what meant...
I shouldn't have been.

Unbelievable
Good to see him taking something out of the Braden Looper playbook there.

Let's see if we can win it in the 9th.

he hit the pinch-hitting pitcher, FREAK ME!

how ugly?
was the pitch Floyd got ejected on?  Did Willie come out to argue as well?  thanks for the info

What the hell's going on?
I'm following the game on the Internet.  Why was Brian Moehler pinch-hitting?

And as much as I criticize JoeBo, Wagner stinks.

i'm pretty sure
you guys used your entire bench

by 17MarlinS35 on Aug 2, 2006 10:25 PM EDT up reply actions

gotta love
how the pitchers keep getting sub'd in for each other, thats creative in a short handed type of way

by 17MarlinS35 on Aug 2, 2006 10:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Treanor?
Isn't Treanor still on the bench?

by Double B on Aug 2, 2006 10:28 PM EDT up reply actions

yea
unless he's hurt or Girardi's holdin him back in case of extras

by 17MarlinS35 on Aug 2, 2006 10:30 PM EDT up reply actions

okay
thats getting disgusting 4 pitcher-for-pitcher substitutions

by 17MarlinS35 on Aug 2, 2006 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Come on Ramirez.
At least advance the runners Hanley.  Don't strike out or pop up.

by Double B on Aug 2, 2006 10:25 PM EDT reply actions

WOW
Woooooooooo hell of a game

thats gotta be worth TWO SAVES!!!!

GO METS!!!!

by 17MarlinS35 on Aug 2, 2006 10:33 PM EDT reply actions

Wouldn't
things like... oh I don't know... not allowing baserunners be worth multiple saves?

Working out of a jam that you created yourself isn't exactly something we should be encouraging or praising.

That goes double for you, JoeBo.

by dan 2.0 on Aug 2, 2006 11:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Alas...
Just needed one more baserunner to get to Hammer, and then it would have been Big Willie Style all over again and I'd have my first AAB points in what seems like an eternity.

by dan 2.0 on Aug 2, 2006 11:13 PM EDT reply actions

Points
The attendance for the game was 18,239.  The attendance point goes to Jsprt06.

Players earning a point are: Cabrera, Ramirez and Helms.

A point goes to:  Bobbob, C60, Dan and Jscape.

AAB points:  C60 was the sole successful FishStriper.

Recap:

C60 +2
Jsprt06 +1
Bobbob +1
Dan +1
Jscape +1

Congratulations to all tonight's winners!  If I missed anyone or anything please let me know.
