Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Nationals (7/5)

The Marlins will try again for their first win of July.  Maybe tonight is the night.

The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Yusmeiro Petit.  The Nationals will trot out Mike O'Connor to the mound.

Hah!
Way to bust out the old-school Skump-reference, Rajah.

Glad I got home in time to watch some of the game, for once...

Taking the fun out of it - for everyone.

Slugfest!
Gotta think Uggla gets one player of the game awards.  He is getting warmed up for the All-Star game  Lots of fantasy owners had a great day with this one:

Uggla  6-4-4-4
Cabrera  5-2-2-4
Willingham  6-2-4-3
Helms  5-1-2-3
Clayton  5-1-3-3
Vidro  4-2-3-2

Other fantasy owners will wake up crying in their coffee when they see this box score:

O'Connor  1.0 - 4+1 5
Rivera  0.1 - 8+1 7

And Pinto gets the save giving up four runs in three innings.  The way managers use bullpens these days, you don't see too many three-inning saves anymore

I have Uggla on my team
and sat him accidently while he was hurt.  Since I can only make changes on Sunday in my league, I couldn't fix it.

Whoops.

Sucks for me.

Yea
I meant he would get his 1st hit.  Should have made that more clear, your call.

We will split the difference
you would have normally gotten 5 points for that pick.  but since stats for pitches are always considered pitching stats unless otherwise designated   It is worth 2.
