Moehler to the 15-Day DL

Big Moe didn't make it out of the first inning yesterday because of a recurring foot injury.

Brian Moehler's right big toe problem went from manageable to debilitating in less than an inning Saturday.

What was termed toe soreness two starts ago turned into a sprained right foot that forced him out of the game and onto the disabled list.

His bullpen was fine," manager Joe Girardi said. "It's always that one pitch that just grabs you. ... They'll do some tests and see exactly what it is."

This may mean that Sanchez will stay in the rotation for a little while longer. He is now slated to pitch Thursday against the Nats.

Renyel Pinto got the call to fill the roster spot.

The Marlins recalled left-hander Renyel Pinto from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace Moehler. Pinto will start one of the doubleheader games Saturday against the Mets in New York.

Now the rotation is Dontrelle and four rookies, at least for 15 days.
