Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Giants (6/6)

Last night's game was a bit disappointing but I can only assume that it was a strategical ploy.  The Giants have to be arm weary and over confident now.

Which bring us to tonight's game:

The Marlins starting pitcher is Josh Johnson.  The Giants will counter with Jason Schmidt.

Game time is 10:15 p.m.

Be sure to take a nap during the day so you can watch the game in it's entirety.  We are going to be doing this all week long.  Except for the off day on Thursday, of course.

Josh has been good as a starter thus far in the season.

Schmidt has won his last five decisions.  He can't do that forever.  Tonight may be the night he falters - at least I hope so.

If you like to take a gander at what the Giant faithful are saying, they tend to congregate over at McCovey Chronicles.

Ichthyomancy is front and center.  Be sure to get your picks in early.  That shouldn't be much of a challenge given the start time of the game.

Here's today's Ichthyomancy pick table:

I really don't understand
the last two nights the wind has been reported as 20 mph.

But it doesn't look that windy at the park.

At least 2-1 isn't exactly insurmountable odds.

True
But it is getting late and we are about to see their setup man and possibly the closer

well, I might be stupid
But I have faith that this young Marlins team doesnt know theyre supposed to lose in this situation (kinda like they didnt know youre supposed to lose in pittsburg and colordao)

Agree
No, I wasn't saying all is lost.

Just that we need to get it going pretty quickly.

Scratch the closer thing.  I think Schmidt will go for a complete game, if we don't score in the 8th

Johnson
has to be getting close to a 100 pitches.

by craig on Jun 7, 2006 12:00 AM EDT reply actions

Or
throw it to the backstop again.

Either is fine
