Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Orioles (6/22)

All good things must come to an end and the streak could not break the rules.

Tonight, the Marlins start anew.

The starting pitcher for the Marlins is Scott Olsen.  The Orioles are sending their ace to the hill, Kris Benson.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Remember yesterday when I said the Marlins have trouble with left-handed starters?  The Orioles are just as bad.  Olsen is looking for his fifth win in five consecutive starts.

Benson has been hot of late.  Going 4-1 in his last five starts.  It is best to get to him early in the game.

Oh, all of the streaks are not dead.  Alfredo is looking to tie his career consecutive starts tonight at 11.

Ichthyomancy is ready for action. Be sure to get your picks in on time.

There is an Ichthyomancy Super Pick for tonight.  Since Olsen is 0 for lifetime, if anyone picks:  Olsen Goes Warehouse! and should it happen, it is worth 20 points.

[Update] Thanks to Dan for pointing out my typo. The pick is worth 50 points, not 20.

Here's today's Ichthyomancy pick table:

Hmmm...
Considering the game is in an AL park, shouldn't anything Olsen hit-related (especially a homer, and especially a warehouse shot) be worth way way more than 20?  Just getting an at-bat seems absurd enough...

Anyway...

You're right
It actually should read 50.  Which is probably still way undervalued.

Sounds like something weird...
happened on the Cabrera single.  Unfortunately I was out of the room at the time and didn't see it.

Did anyone see it?

According to Baseball Musings...
"Tied at five in the top of the tenth, the Marlins get a runner to second with 1 out, and the Orioles decide to walk Miguel Cabrera. Todd Williams throws a lollipop too close to the strike zone, and Cabrera is ready. He lines it into center to drive in the go-ahead run."

Whoops!

kind of
reminds me of Sheffield in 1998 (I think) swinging at an intentional ball because he was tired of being walked.
