Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Maybe Burnett Isn't Going to Pitch to Contact

When A.J. came back after missing a start we were all led to believe that he was going to buy into Mark Wiley's "pitch to early contact" philosophy. In theory, this would help reduce the stress on A.J.'s arm. Unfortunately, per this quote from BP, that's not the case:

"[Dr. James Andrews] said `You're putting pressure on your elbow by throwing too hard. You need to pitch a little bit.' I said 'Sorry Doc, I thought that was a good thing.' I said if that's the case, make an appointment for June. I'll be back in here next week." --Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett, on how he won't stop throwing hard to alleviate the elbow pain he's been having (Miami Herald)

I Don't Think It's A Bad Thing...
I personally love the high-K games (as long as the Marlins aren't the ones fanning). It's very energizing to me.

But if he is going to get his fool self injured
Then it damn well IS a bad thing.

The Venting is spilling out of the diary... sorry.

True...
... but I think he was just joking about being back in there. I think he's played long enough that he knows what he's doing. If he sustains a serious injury, though, I'll be the first to lambast him (even before you) for it. ;)

Oh, and don't worry about the venting, I understand how frustrating the last 2 weeks have been.

Also...
... I don't think this is a new quote. I thought I read it several weeks ago.

Fair
It probably is an old quote - since Burnett references visiting Andrews. I just found it today though.

There's nothing to fear
A - venting doesn't have to be confined to the diary. Vent anywhere.

B - I just heard Harold Reynolds on SportsCenter. He's still picking the Marlins to win the NL East. Between that and Jack managing by superstition, I am no longer worried about ANYTHING.
