Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Rays (6/26)

TIME: 2:15 @ the Trop

                             vs.
         MARLINS                                      RAYS
A.J. Burnett (4-5, 3.43)            Seth McClung (0-2, 11.09)

The Marlins have climbed into (a tie for) 3rd place. Woo-hoo!

Still on the road. Craig is in charge all weekend.

In ichthyomancy, I'll take today's DH and a crowd of 10,001.

Other Picks:
Double B - Burnett
Craig - Pierre and 13,903

Ummm...
Does anybody besides Burnett merit a point? I mean, seriously, the offense tried to lose this game for him. It took 3 walks and a single to get the lone run of the game. MAYBE half a point for Miggy's patience to get that bases loaded walk, but I wouldn't give anybody else anything. (Actually, on second thought, maybe Pierre deserves something for his effort, got on base 3 of 4 PAs.) I hope the offense starts up again tomorrow, but with Big Moe on the hill, don't look for much. And with an attendance of 12,233, methinks Craig just edges out Mike for that point. All in all, if it were up to me, this is a good game for Craig to gain some valuable ground. Alas, it's not up to me. :-P

Points
A point to Craig for attendance and a point to Double B for Burnett. That is all.

Hmmm...
I'm getting better at guessing these things. :-D Maybe sometime in the future my point recaps might actually carry some weight. :-)

Yeah
Excellent work tonight. Today's point distributing was very difficult - particuarly with the high volume and complexity of picks.

Well...
Sundays have routinely been light days for ichthyomancy picks around here. :-P And despite the sarcasm, I don't think I did too bad a job, even though we disagreed on JP. :-P

"very difficult"? "high volume and complexity of picks"? :-P
